Starting in early 2022, a Women in Leadership series is a part of the World Bank’s outreach and engagement on its Gender Equality for Growth program supported by Australian Government.
The Gender Equality for Growth program aims to generate the evidence base and address key knowledge gaps to support the Government’s objectives of closing female labor force participation gaps by 25 percent by 2025. The activity will contribute to the Government of Indonesia’s objectives for accelerated economic growth and transition to middle class jobs and will support the GoI’s longer term objectives for overall inclusive economic development and gender equality. In order to support the GoI close key gender gaps for greater economic growth, the project initiated the engagement and outreach activities.
The first series is taking part in celebrating International Women’s Day 2022 and will bring together respected female figures across a range of fields and sectors to:
- Discuss topical issues relating to gender equality; including women in leadership, and
- Discuss opportunities and challenges to achieving greater gender equality in the Covid response in Indonesia.
The event will be live-streamed in English and in Bahasa Indonesia as well as interpretations in sign using Zoom. Instructions to choose the language can be found here.
